So, Christopher had his 4 year old check-up today. I always debate about how much to tell him about doctor's appointments because he tends to worry too much about it before we even get there. I knew he would be getting shots so I kind of mentioned it in passing when I was telling him what would happen at the doctor. He didn't seem upset about it. When we got to the office he got all shy and didn't even want us to weigh him. But we got that out of the way and then they tested his eye sight and hearing which he thought was really cool because he got to cover one eye and look at letters and then put on cool head phones. But when the doctor came in the real worry began. There was general crying and complaining as the doctor tried to do the check-up but the doctor was funny and actually got a few laughs out of him. The funniest part though, was when the doctor had to leave for a minute and when he came back, Christopher puts this fake smile on his face and through the tears says, "I like you doctor, I do like you!" I think the doctor was a little shocked to have a child say that to him. He probably doesn't hear that very often. Anyway, when the nurse came to give him shots I had to hold him in my lap in what could only be described as a straight-jacket hold while he got 2 shots. He was pretty mad at me for that. But it wasn't anything that Frosty's on the way home wouldn't fix. Now he's just really excited to show dad his owie's and cool band-aids. Kids are so resilient.
