So, for a long while the door knobs to the two doors in our house (yes, we only have 2...bathroom and bedroom) :)..have been kind of broken. The bedroom one had gotten so bad that at times you literally could not get the door open. I kept asking the kids to just leave the door open, but inevitably someone was always stuck in the room. We temporarily fixed the problem by always having and old credit card handy to jimmy the door open. (Side note: My children now believe this is what credit cards are for. They have no idea they have anything to do with money. They think they are just for opening doors). There was even one evening where we all got locked in the room (the credit card only works from the outside, not the inside). Jeff came home from work and since he never carries a key we have to let him in...but we were all stuck in the room and he rang the doorbell forever and there was nothing we could do. He finally had to come around to the back of the house and come in through the window and open the door with his strong man arms. :)
Well, at night the broken door turned out to be not so bad because if the door got closed, there was no chance of little children trying to escape. We would just make sure we got it open before we went to bed in case they really needed to get out.
So, this leads me to the results of our unknown experiment. Jeff and the boys decided to finally fix the door knobs. This is the funny part. They know very well that they can open the door because they helped Jeff fix it and they open it all day long. But I think they were really conditioned to believe that they can't open the door at night because they haven't even attempted to touch the door once we turn off the light and leave the room. So I guess Pavlov's theory of classical conditioning really does work. I challenge you all to try it....haha

Who Dun It?
Anne is a funny little girl. She is only 18 months old but she's starting to figure out how to be tricky. She says Michael's name really well...we are still working on how to say Christopher, which seems to be much harder. Whenever she has done something or I think she has done something and I say, "Annie, do you have a poopy diaper", or "Annie, there's crayon on the wall, did you do that?" she just says, "No!, Michael!" All of the sudden Michael is at fault for all things in the house. He's starting to catch on and deny it every time he hears his name. It is pretty funny/cute, except for the fact that she is fibbing. :)

Why the long silence?
Well, there are two reasons I haven't blogged in so long. First, our computer is broken and so I can't really do much without it. This also explains why I have been so bad at responding to emails lately. When Jeff is home with his computer I can check up on stuff, but I haven't been too good at that lately.
Secondly, and I guess more important, is that we are expecting Sutherland #4 and I have just felt way to yucky to worry much about the blog. I get pretty sick at the beginning and hardly do anything that isn't absolutely necessary for survival, (I feel bad for my poor family). My opinion is that the morning sickness (or all day sickness in my case) is worse than delivery...and I don't have epidurals, so that is saying a lot. :) But I'm starting to feel a little better this last week. I'm almost 12 weeks so this baby will be coming the end of October...around Michael's 4th birthday. I have no preference if it's a boy or a girl, but for Baby Anne's sake I hope it is a girl. She needs a little playmate that won't want to wrestle or play cars with her.
I wish I could post a few pictures of my cute kids...but the broken computer won't allow it. Hopefully we will get around to getting a new one soon.
Happy Easter Everyone!
