Jacob turns 3 !!!

Jacob turned three on Oct. 12th.  I can't believe how big he is already.  People ask me all the time if he and Annie are twins because she is so small and now they are pretty much the same size.

We had a fun day.  When I went to get him out of bed I said, "Happy Birthday Jacob!" and he looked at me totally confused and said, "Nope."  I think he had forgotten it was his birthday.  He had a fun time with his pancake shaped like a three and mandarin oranges which he would eat all day if I let him.  He LOVED opening his presents and got such a kick out of them.  All day if someone touched one of his toys when he didn't want them to he'd say, "Don't touch. My birthday."  (He did share his things most of the time though). :)

Three things I love about Jacob.  I could name many more but this is the tradition.

1.  He is so sweet and loves to give hugs, say I love you, say thank you and say, "you so nice mom."  (This all makes up for the fact that he also has a tendency to hit and yell quite loudly)  :)

2.  He will be a good big brother to Daniel.  He loves to say, "Daniel so cute, right mom?" and give him hugs and kisses.

3.  He loves sports and wearing the baseball mitt and playing baseball.

After School and the Highland Hustle

My life after school.

The boys run outside after showing me their school work and cleaning out their lunch boxes.

10 minutes later Christopher come in with tears saying he took a turn to sharp on his bike and fell off.  He has a nice bruise on his knee but no blood.   He does his 15 minutes of reading with the ice pack on his knee and runs outside again.

15 minutes later Christopher comes running in again with a big red mark on his face.  He says Christian kicked the soccer ball really hard and it hit him in the eye.  But he said the ball bounced off him and he made a goal so he wasn't too upset about it.

10 minutes later Michael comes in with 2 skinned knees, a skinned elbow and a dirt on his face.  He and Andrew went to kick the soccer ball at the same time and he fell down.  I wipe off all his marks and he runs back outside.

Man, it's all drama around here.  All the kids play in the dead end street in front of our house and it gets pretty crazy out there.  But it's great to have friends to play with.  I just wish they'd play soccer on the grass.  :)

Last week was the Highland Hustle which is the annual fun run.  It had actually snowed the night before (first snow was on Oct. 5th) and so it was a pretty cold day.  It was fun to watch all the kids run.  Some of those kids were still sprinting at the end of a mile...wow!!

Third graders ran a mile.  I was pretty proud of them.  Their PE teacher is really great and does some cool things with the kids.  Michael (first grade) decided last minute that he was too worried to do it and didn't end up running.  I wish he had because he is actually a really good runner.  I'm not sure why he got scared.

Christopher with his friend Grant.  They are in the same primary class too.

Just a cute picture.  Starting to get some little smiles out of Daniel.
