November 2013

Lots of things happening in November.

At the beginning of the month I took a quick trip to Utah to visit.  I only took Daniel with me since he's free.  He was okay on the plane.  He was fussy until take off and then mostly slept which was good.  It was a quick weekend trip but really good to see my mom and family.

King of the plane.  Love his cute little teeth.

Daniel and grandma.  It takes him a while to warm up to people so a weekend wasn't really long enough.
But grandma loved seeing him.

Back at the airport.  During this winter Daniel had some sort of prickly rash around his face all the time.
It took a while for it to go away.

Anne went to the Ramsey fire station for Daisy Scouts

Lots of room cleaning.

Michael played fall soccer.

Haircuts are a never ending thing in our house.  Jacob's stance shows how much
he loves it.  ;)

Love this picture of Anne with her grandma

We have two Cub Scouts now.

Christopher is a Bear

Michael is a Wolf

We got a fun visit from Emily and Sean.  Sean came to NYC for business and so Emily came along.   We only got to enjoy them for one night but it was so fun.

Aunt Emily is so good with kids

And then I took another trip to Utah for Thanksgiving.  Tatia was traveling on Thanksgiving day and we didn't want mom to be alone so I took Daniel and went out again.  Not ideal to not have the whole family together but it was the best we could do.  Jeff was left alone with 4 kids for Thanksgiving dinner.  I made a pumpkin pie before I left and left them all the food to cook.  This was their dinner.
 :)

I don't think all the food I left got cooked.  :)

My mom, Daniel and I went out for Thanksgiving dinner to Mimi's Cafe.  That's all they served that day was Thanksgiving dinner and it was actually really good.  We had a good time.

We drove down to the new Payson Temple they are building.  It was so close to where we use to live.  It was different from other temples with lots of beautiful windows.  Very fun to see it.

It's been way too long

So I hardly ever sit down at my computer any more.  My phone holds so many pictures that I don't know what to do and I'm so far behind on documenting that it's scary to think about catching up.  Does anyone even blog anymore?  Not really it seems, but practically speaking this really is a good way to keep a little family history for posterity sake.  So here's to trying to catch up....and keep it going!

Take a trip back in time with me to Halloween 2013. :)  We all know I'm not a huge fan of Halloween, but I tolerate it.  This year Halloween night was pretty good though.  We just trick or treated to our own neighborhood and even with that they each had a whole bucket full.  The weather was perfectly Halloweeny...crisp but not cold and foggy...which was fun and kind of creepy.

First off though was the Tisdale school trunk or treat.  We also had a ward trunk or treat but I don't think I got any pictures of that.

Our friends from church,  the Macdonald's who also go to our elementary school

Our last minute car decoration

Halloween Day
Anne went as Cinderella...again.  (This was probably the last year she can fit in that
costume.)  I got a little costume lazy this year.

Waiting for Christopher's Halloween parade to start.  Daniel was the frog this year.  Every one of the boys
has been the frog around this age.  Longest lasting costume ever.  The runner up is the cowboy costume.

Harry Potter.  Kind of looks like him, right?

Christopher's 4th grade class.  Dater School, Ramsey NJ

Anne and her BFF Catherine.  How about opposites...Cindrella and scary vampire girl

Michael always wants to me make him a costume and he wanted to be a monster.  This might be the
last year he wants a homemade costume though.  He's already gravitating to the easier sports related
costumes.

Trick or Treating in our neighborhood.  This was our next door neighbors Don and Doris.
They are so good to our kids.

Classic picture.  The East coast is so perfect for Halloween.

Jacob was all about the candy

Michael's baptism

What a great day.  I wondered if it would actually happen but it did.  Let me explain.  Michael is a worrier.  I understand...I was much the same way as a child.  He worries himself to death about little things.  So, naturally getting baptized made his nervous.  He wanted to do it and it wasn't even going under the water that made him nervous as it was all the people that would be watching him.
Anyway, grandma and grandpa came from Utah for his baptism which was so nice.  They stayed a few days with us and we had such a good time.  We had the baptism on a Sunday in the early evening.  We decided to just invite his primary class instead of the whole ward so there would be less people.  But he has a large class and there were still quite a few people there.  He was fine right at the beginning of the program and even got up with the other kids to sing the musical number.  But when he got to the font he started crying and didn't want to go in where everyone would watch him.  We talked to him for a while and the bishop even talked to him.  (Our bishop is super nice and so good with the kids).  In the end, we decided to have everyone except family go back to the other room and wait.  Once we did that, he went right in and Jeff was able to baptize him.  I guess when it comes down to it, it's not about how many people see you get baptized....just that you do it. :)  Then he came back and we did the rest of the program.  He got confirmed and for some reason he was fine with everyone being there for that.  Then we had nice refreshments and he had fun with his friends.  It all turned out really nice and everyone understood.  Every child is different and it's a big day for them and can get a little overwhelming.  The Arguelles family from our old JC ward came and it was so good to have them there.  It was a really special day and Michael was so happy that he did it.  He is such a good little boy.

I love my cute family!  (But I should have taken off my glasses...major glare face.)

Proud grandma and grandpa

I caught a "way too silly for a baptism day" picture

Here is our Michael...all baptized and confirmed.

We have such a great group of kids in our ward.  They all get along really well.

Eating Doritos with dad and grandpa

Scrabble and MUG rootbeer. Can't get any better than that.  The kids and I didn't last long though.
Jeff, grandma and grandpa were left to finish the game by themselves.

That Sunday was also our ward primary program.  The kids did an amazing job.  Our music leader is the best in the world and she loves the kids so much.  Here are the kids giving her a big group hug in primary afterwards.  You can see Anne laughing on the ground.  That's because they all rushed at her so fast that they all went backward and knocked over the podium behind her.  It was funny.

We sure love our Michael!!!
