Feed the Birds
I meant to include this in the post about staying at Jeff's parents house and forgot. But this was one of the funnest things for the kids to do. Jeff's mom and dad's bedroom has a large deck that looks out over Utah Valley and the Provo temple. There are a lot of blue jays that live in the trees around there. Jeff's mom, Carolyn, feeds them peanuts every morning. She throws a bunch out on the deck and they come flying down and pick them up and fly off again. She said she can even put a trail of peanuts into the bedroom and they will come in the room. She also said that if she is a little late they start squawking and calling to her. (I don't know what they do when she is out of town) :) Anyway, a few mornings we would bundle up in blankets and sit in front of the door and watch them. It was so fun. You had to sit really still which was a little hard for the kids, but they did it. We even got one to come in the room which was really cool.

That is really cool! We've been studying birds in science and my kids would have thought that was amazing!
That's one way to get little kids to be still!
